NC DOT is requiring TRTC to make a number of upgrades to bring the parking and fountain area and the connection trail into compliance with Federal and State disability rules.
Starting on September 27th, we moved over 10 cubic yards of crushed aggregates from the parking area at Pittard Sears Road about 175′ to cover a 20 foot long plastic culvert on the west side of the ATT. A few volunteers came out on the 29th and 30th and allowed us to finish by noon on the 30th. In 2018 this culvert will be part of a new connector trail with a hard surface we’ll be putting in to bring this facility into compliance with Federal and State disability rules. This surface has not been compacted and can be expected to settle and harden over the next 6 months.
