Upcoming Bridge Repairs on the
American Tobacco Trail
Work is beginning soon to repair and update the rails and support systems for several bridges in the Wake County section of the American Tobacco Trail. Please note there will be both full and partial closures of bridges while repairs are being made. All of these changes are south of the New Hope Church Road trailhead (Milepost 14.5).
Projected schedule: Feb. 12 – April 17. All dates are subject to change.
Tentative schedule of closings:
Feb. 12-16: Partial closure of the White Oak Creek Bridge; passage possible
Feb. 19-23: Complete closure of the White Oak Creek Bridge; Trail blocked at Wimberly Road headed south and mile marker 18.75
Feb. 26-29: Partial closure of the Reedy Branch Bridge; passage possible
March 4-13: Complete closure of the Reedy Branch Bridge; Trail will be blocked at Olive Chapel Road north and mile marker 20.5
March 18 – April 17: Complete closure of the Beaver Creek Bridge; New Hill parking area will be closed and Trail will be blocked at New Hill and at Olive Chapel Road
